Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of high school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first part as the title character in the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in 2001. The role she played in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace, who had worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, decided to make the move to film. Grace has been in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. The actress was featured in 2013's seventh season Californication. She portrays Faith as the muse and fan of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She's a Gyllenhaal. daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films and appeared alongside her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal won critical praise for both her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002), an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she starred in several commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However it was her performance as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee as well as in the Big Bang and Hysteria. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
